Container/Tube:
Preferred/Acceptable: Clean, plastic screw-cap urine collection container with no preservatives
Specimen Volume: 1.0 (minimum 0.5 mL) urine
Submission Container/Tube: Specimen may not be received from outside facility due to stability.
Special Instructions: Send to lab STAT.

Specimen received after 1330 Monday-Friday (without approval) or anytime Saturday, Sunday, or day of Holiday

Limitations
- False positive results may occur on patients receiving some antibiotics, like cefotaxime, cefuroxime, ampicillin and benzylpenicillin.
- Highly colored urine will discolor the reacton zone of test strip which may lead to false positive results.
