Preferred: Purple-top (EDTA) tube

Specimen Collection Volume: minimum 1.0 mL in a 4.0 mL Purple-top (EDTA) tube

Special Instructions: None

Mislabled or unlabeled specimens

Test Availability: Monday-Sunday

Cut-off time: None, performed as received

Turnaround Time: Same Day

FOR SLCH CORE LABORATORY USE ONLY

Lab Processing Instructions: Do not process if collected in 4 mL EDTA tube. Send straight to BJS.

IF specimen collected in a 2.0 mL lavender-top (EDTA) tube, centrifuge to separate and aliquot sample into a round-bottom tube for transport

Processed Volume: minimum 1.0 mL EDTA whole blood (0.5 mL plasma if processed)

Specimen transport temperature: Ambient

NOTE: This test should only be ordered on Neuromuscular patients
