Specimen Type: Serum
Container/Tube: Red/Grey separator or gold separator tube
Specimen Volume: Full tube (Pediatric collection volume: 3.0 mL - minimum 2.0 mL)
Collection Information: Specimen with obvious microbial contamination is not acceptable.

Interpretation depends on clinical setting.

Methodology
Electrochemiluminescence Immunoassay (ECLIA)
Testing Algorithm:
If HBsAg is repeatedly reactive, confirmatory testing by specific antibody neutralization will be performed, at an additional charge.

1 mint or dark green-top (lithium heparin or sodium heparin) tube
1 pink-top (K2EDTA) tube
Note: Performance has not been established with cord blood, neonatal specimen, cadaver specimen, heat-inactivated specimen, or body fluid other than serum or plasma such as saliva, urine, amniotic fluid, or pleural fluid.
