Specimen Requirements

Patient Preparation: None

Collection Container/Tube:

Preferred: Plain red-top tube

Acceptable: LiHep syringe or sterile screw-apped plastic container

Specimen Collection Volume: 1.0 (minimum 0.5 mL) dialysate fluid

Submission Container/Tube: If specimen is coming from outside facility aliquot a minimum of 0.3 mL of fluid into a plastic screw-capped tube for transport.

Special Instructions: Send to lab promptly at ambient temperature.

NOTE: SPECIMEN SOURCE IS REQUIRED ON REQUEST FORM FOR PROCESSING
